Monsters, Portraits, 2012
In 2012, I did a short series of portraits of friends, colleagues, mentors, and family as monsters. Everyone who was drawn as a monster volunteered for the portrait – this is not a reflection of my feelings about the subjects.
Reimagining people as monsters and capturing the feelings of the source images was a really fun project. Even better were the responses I got when people saw themselves as these monsters.
